In December 2025, CBFI Ice Source successfully completed the installation of three 30-ton flake ice machines in Tecamachalco, Mexico. This project represents a significant advancement in industrial ice production for the region, catering to the growing demands of the local food processing, fisheries, and concrete cooling industries. The flake ice machines, known for their efficiency and reliability, were custom-designed to handle high-volume production while maintaining optimal energy consumption and ice quality.

Tecamachalco, located in the state of Puebla, Mexico, is a hub for agricultural and industrial activities. The client, a leading ice production company, faced challenges with outdated equipment that could not meet the increasing demand for high-quality flake ice. Flake ice is essential for preserving perishable goods, such as seafood and vegetables, due to its large surface area and rapid cooling properties. After thorough consultations, CBFI Ice Source was selected to provide a turnkey solution, including equipment supply, installation, and on-site training.
The project aimed to achieve a daily output of 90 tons of flake ice, ensuring consistent supply even during peak seasons. The facility’s location in a semi-arid region also necessitated robust water management and cooling systems to optimize performance.

CBFI Ice Source deployed three state-of-the-art 30-ton flake ice machines, each equipped with advanced refrigeration technology. These machines utilize a vertical drum design for ice formation, where water is sprayed onto a refrigerated cylinder, forming thin ice layers that are then scraped off as flakes. Key features include:
The installation incorporated a centralized brine system to enhance cooling efficiency across all units.

The project kicked off with site preparation in early December 2025. CBFI’s engineering team arrived on-site to oversee the assembly and integration of the machines. The process involved:
The entire installation was completed within two weeks, with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

Post-installation, the facility demonstrated exceptional performance. Workers efficiently manage the ice output, using shovels and conveyors to distribute the flakes. The flake ice produced is dry, sub-cooled, and uniform in size (typically 1-2 mm thick), ideal for various applications.
One notable aspect is the loading process, where ice is directly transferred to trucks for distribution. This streamlined workflow reduces handling time and preserves ice quality.

The new setup has yielded impressive results:
Feedback from the client highlights the reliability and ease of use, contributing to business growth in the region.

This project in Tecamachalco exemplifies CBFI Ice Source’s commitment to delivering tailored ice-making solutions worldwide. The successful deployment of three 30-ton flake ice machines not only boosts local industry but also sets a benchmark for sustainable and efficient ice production.
